Kawaya accuses Mutuse of disrespect, warns he will be one term MP

Mwala MP Eng. Vincent Musyoka Kawaya has criticized Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse, accusing him of disrespecting other leaders from the Ukambani region.

Speaking during an interview with a local TV station, Kawaya alleged that Mutuse had been exuding an air of superiority since leading the impeachment motion against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

“We have been elected many times because we know how to respect other people. Reading the papers (tabling Rigathi’s impeachment motion) is not a big deal because anybody could have done it,” Kawaya remarked.

He further revealed that it was they who selected Mutuse to table the impeachment motion and that the task was straightforward, as the motion had already been scripted.

“Reading papers does not mean you are above everybody. Let us now concentrate on delivering for the people,” he added.

Kawaya also warned Mutuse to tread carefully, cautioning him about the strong competition he faces in Kibwezi West that could make him a one-term MP.

He accused Mutuse of allegedly supporting opponents to unseat some Ukambani MPs and hinted that they could also rally support for contenders to challenge him in his constituency.

“We are more powerful and more connected,” Kawaya stated, adding that mutual respect is essential for the region’s unity and progress.

Mutuse in response stayed clear of the claims and said he is focused on serving the people of Kibwezi West and supporting President William Ruto.
