Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has given his stance on appointment to Ruto’s government. Kalonzo firmly dismissed rumors circulating about his potential appointment as Attorney General.
In a statement delivered on Thursday, the Azimio principal addressed the speculation head-on, making it clear that not only has he not been approached with such an offer, but he also harbors no interest in the position.
Musyoka, known for his long-standing career in Kenyan politics, pointed to his previous role as the country’s Vice President, emphasizing the significant stature of that office. He highlighted that the Vice Presidency far outranks the position of Attorney General in terms of governmental hierarchy and influence.
“Nobody has offered any position to me or to Wiper. That thing about the Attorney General is a mirage. I may be senior counsel which is okay, maybe that’s the attraction but this guy has been vice president of the republic and has been a minister in many portfolios, do you expect me to serve Ruto as Attorney General? ” former VP Kalonzo questioned.
The Wiper leader’s comments came amidst ongoing political maneuverings and rumors of the UDA and ODM coalition. By publicly declaring his stance, Musyoka appears to be distancing himself from any backroom negotiations or political deals that might be in play.
