Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has promised free secondary education if elected as president in 2022.

The Wiper party leader who spoke at a burial in Machakos asked headteachers and principals to be considerate and stop sending children home for fees as the times were bad especially due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It is worrying to hear with this Covid children are being sent home. If you have human hearts and not stone hearts. Where are you sending them to? God help us if we hear Kalonzo is president, no secondary school child will be sent home for fees.” Kalonzo said.

“When I was the vice president of Mwai Kibaki, I gave him the idea of having and introducing free primary education, it is the same me saying free secondary education,” Kalonzo added.

Kalonzo who was once an Education minister promised to also institute reforms in public universities and introduce decency.

“We will talk about our universities. You go to some of them and students cook in hostels. There is no decency in our public institutions. There is a lot of work to be done and we will redeem time. ” He went on.
