Kalonzo lectures Ruto during IEBC bill signing

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka lectured President William Ruto, insisting he must look into the issues around the youth of Kenya.

Speaking at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), where President Ruto was signing the IEBC bill into law, Kalonzo pointed out some possible implications of ignoring the voice of the youth cautioning that the old guard was risking being politically irrelevant.

“If we are not careful all of us will be thrown out by the Gen Z because they say they have come of age… you say we are leaders of tomorrow but we are leaders of now. We can’t wish them away,” Kalonzo said.

The Wiper party leader also asked the President to order the Police inspector General Japheth Koome to resign over the deaths of 42 Kenyans in the recent protests. He further called for the army to return to the barracks from the streets.

“Order IG Japheth Koome to resign and take responsibility for the deaths of the 42 young Kenyans who lost their lives because they were exercising their constitutional rights to peaceably assemble, demonstrate, and picket. Mr President, the Army should be ordered off our streets and sent back to the barracks,” the former Vice President added.

Kalonzo’s speech has earned him praise on social media with many praising him for speaking on the issues affecting the young people.
