Kalonzo Lectures President Ruto Over Endarasha School Tragedy

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has sharply criticized President William Ruto, accusing him of neglecting pressing national issues in favor of political maneuvering.

In a statement, Kalonzo expressed dismay over the president’s handling of the recent Hillside Endarasha Academy fire that claimed the lives of 21 students, referring to them as “precious angels.”

“It is very unfortunate that instead of consoling the families of the 21 precious angels who perished in the tragic Hillside Endarasha Academy fire, Ruto is busy racking up frequent flier miles,” Musyoka said.

He criticized the president for failing to focus on bolstering safety systems in schools to prevent future incidents.

Instead, Kalonzo claimed Ruto’s administration has chosen to engage in political distractions, notably an impeachment motion against the Deputy President.

“Instead of directing his efforts towards strengthening the school safety system to ensure that such a tragedy does not happen again, Ruto has allowed his henchmen to distract the country with an Impeachment Motion against his Deputy,” Musyoka charged.

The Wiper Party leader also raised concerns over what he termed the “Adani heist,” referring to alleged efforts by certain figures to take control of strategic national infrastructure.

According to Kalonzo, President Ruto is more focused on undermining the opposition than addressing key national issues, including what he implied were corrupt dealings surrounding vital security assets.

“Instead of addressing the Adani heist, and those behind the blatant attempt to take control of key security and strategic infrastructure, Ruto’s priority is to capture the Opposition,” he added.

Kalonzo vowed that the opposition, which he dubbed the “Government in Waiting,” would not allow these distractions, including the impeachment motion, to go unchallenged.

“As the Government in Waiting, we will not allow these distractions, including an Impeachment Motion against the Deputy President, to pass unopposed,” Musyoka concluded.
