Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Parliamentary Service Commissioner Johnson Muthama have agreed to convene a meeting of all the Kamba leaders to talk about the community.
Speaking during the burial of Agnes Mutete, the wife to former Mbooni MP, Munyao Konzolo, at Kalawa in Mbooni Sub-County, Makueni County, Muthama called upon the Kamba Community to consolidate their vote basket in one place in 2027 while Kalonzo called for a consultative meeting to unite the Kamba Community.
Muthama said that the Kamba community has a big stake in the leadership of Kenya which will only happen when the votes of the community are consolidated in one basket.
“We will call for a meeting of the Kamba Community to come and talk irrespective of our political parties. The parties will follow later after we talk to our people, and show them the way forward as a community, I will stand with this community because we have over two million votes which can be a good bargaining tool for our community when we bring them together,” Muthama said.
Kalonzo said that the call by Muthama to have a meeting of all the Kamba Leaders is good and affirmed that he is ready to sit down with all the leaders including those who don’t support his party and his ideologies for the common good of the community.
“Muthama has said that without looking into our party affiliations we should meet and rethink why we are belittled, I want even to propose that before the end of July 2024, we should meet. We once met in July another year with Kibwana and Charity Ngilu when we had the Emali Declaration and so we should meet again, Muthama will be the convenor while Mutula Jnr will be the host to take over from his late father who was among the three musketeers (Muthama, Musila, and Mutula),” the Wiper Party Leader stated.

Kalonzo said that the meeting would be aimed at unifying the Kamba Community and evaluating what went wrong in the community. He encouraged the leaders that this was the right time for the Kamba Community to lead the country.
“Nobody can now prevent us from leading because we are part and parcel of this country despite those who have tried to prevent us from getting the presidency. I know this is the time because God’s timing is the best,” Kalonzo added.
