Kalembe Ndile’s wife dies in hospital

Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile’s wife, Magdalene Kalembe, has sadly passed away.

Magdalene died on Tuesday night while receiving treatment at MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi.

Magdalene’s illness began on Thursday last week. According to Sam Kinyingi, a close family member, she was rushed to the hospital after falling critically ill.

Despite the best efforts of the medical team, she succumbed to her illness a few days later.

The passing of Magdalene is particularly poignant given the family’s recent loss history. In 2021, her husband Kalembe Ndile, a charismatic and well-known figure in Kenyan politics, passed away.

Kalembe Ndile was celebrated for his vibrant political career and his dedication to the people of Kibwezi, often advocating for the underprivileged and fighting for the rights of his constituents.

In the wake of her husband’s death, Magdalene was nominated as a Member of the County Assembly (MCA) for Makueni County by the Maendeleo Chap Chap party in the last general elections.

This nomination was not just a political appointment but a tribute to her late husband’s legacy and her own commitment to public service.

Her role as an MCA allowed her to continue the work her husband had started, championing development projects and social welfare initiatives in the county.

The news of her passing has prompted an outpouring of grief and condolences from leaders and the public alike. Political figures from various parties have come forward to express their sorrow and extend their support to the bereaved family.

Many have highlighted Magdalene’s contributions to the community and her dedication to carrying forward her husband’s mission of service.
