Maendeleo Chap Chap party will nominate Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile’s widow Kamene Kalembe to the Makueni County Assembly after the August elections.
This was disclosed by immediate Machakos chief of staff and Kibwezi west parliamentary hopeful Mwengi Mutuse during a memorial service for Kalembe Ndile.
Mutuse said that Kalembe fought for the rights of mwananchi and in a way of honoring him his wife will be nominated as MCA. He noted that the Kamene has learned a lot in terms of leadership from her late husband and should be given an avenue to practice.
“There are a lot of things Kalembe did and had planned for the people of Kenya. We sat down with leaders from Kibwezi and decided that Magdalene Kamene his wife will be nominated as MCA,” Mutuse said.
“As we talk her name has already been submitted to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission for nomination even if it’s the only nomination that will be given to Makueni county we will do this to honor the late Kalembe,” he added.
Mutuse promised the constituents that he will ensure the land given out by president Mwai Kibaki to squatters in Kibwezi and grabbed by grabbers is gotten back. He claimed that Kibaki gave out 17000 acres of land but around 7000 acres were grabbed.
“If I go to parliament our people who never got land will get it and I will push for that to drive out the grabbers,” he concluded.
It has been a year since Kalembe Ndile passed on at Nairobi hospital after a long illness.
