Kaiti Constituency MP Joshua Kimilu has asked Ukambani leaders, among them Machakos, Makueni, and Kitui Governors, Dr. Alfred Mutua, Prof. Kivutha Kibwana and Charity Ngilu respectively, who had joined Azimio la Umoja coalition earlier to be calm and desist from fighting the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Speaking in Mutulani, Makueni, after attending a church service, Kimilu lauded Kalonzo’s move to join the Azimio la Umoja coalition, saying that it was wise and bold for the wiper leader to join the team that will take over the government in the coming August 9 elections.

“Kalonzo has made a wise and bold move to join Azimio since it is the team that will take over Government after the August 9 elections. All ukambani leaders including the three governors should support Kalonzo and stop fighting him,” Kimilu stated.

Kimilu is among leaders from Ukambani who have come out to support Kalonzo Musyoka’s decision to drop his ambition and support ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Former Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Chairman and Makueni Gubernatorial candidate Prof. Philip Kaloki also supported Kalonzo, saying that the Kamba community wants to be in the government after the August 9 polls and the Azimio la Umoja team will definitely take over the government from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“We, as the Akamba community have been in the opposition for a long time. We want to be in the government in the coming general elections. That can only be achieved if we join Raila Odinga’s team and we are glad that is what Kalonzo has done earlier today,” Kaloki said.

The remarks came hours after Kalonzo blamed Ngilu for asking Raila not to sign the Azimio-OKA coalition agreement so as to lock him out. Kalonzo also accused Ngilu of neglecting the people of Kitui and asked them to vote a wiper Governor in August;
