Controversy has emerged following allegations by Titus Mutua alias Jalas Junior, who resembles Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwour (Jalang’o).
Mutua accused the first-time MP of neglect and failing to fulfill a promise he made to him in the past of improving his life.
In response, Jalang’os comment to the allegations sparked further debate, with the MP questioning whether “looking like Jalas” could be considered a legitimate occupation for him to be responsible for.
“So when you’re asked what you do for a living… Oh, I look like Jalas!” Jalang’o had quipped.
A disappointed Titus responding to Jalang’o via an interview that is trending on TikTok revealed that he had moved his vote from Makueni to Lang’ata and even campaigned for Jalang’o during the election period, hoping that the MP would keep his word and help improve his life.
“Nilienda Nikachange kura yangu kutoka Makueni to Lang’ata nikikaa roysambu. Hizo kura nilikutafutia kwani ilikua responsibility yangu? Mimi nilikusaidia tu kama rafiki.” Mutua Said.
Mutua continued to question whether Jalang’o ever intended to follow through on his promise or if it was merely content for the MP’s gain as he hoped Jalang’o would support him the way he was supported by Papa Shirandula.
“ Kile nilikua najaribu kuuliza ni promise yenye ulisema itakua aje. But nishajua ni content ulikua unataka kutoka kwangu. I was hoping utanishika mkono pia mimi ni land at a good place vile Papa Shirandula walikushika mkono.” a frustrated Mutua added,
The exchange has sparked discussions on social media, with many weighing in on the responsibilities of public figures and the expectations they set for their supporters.
