James Mwangi, husband of the late Mercy Mawia shared a poignant revelation as he bid farewell to his wife at their home in Ol-jororok, Nyandarua County.
During his heartfelt eulogy, Mwangi expressed his profound grief, revealing that he is mourning the loss of not only his beloved wife but also their unborn daughter. The couple had planned to name her Mwende, in honor of Mercy’s mother.
Mwangi recounted the devastating moment when Mercy began to bleed, a sign they would lose their daughter. However, he never imagined that he would lose Mercy as well.
“Welcome everyone and thank you for being here. When Mercy found out she was expecting, we were overjoyed beyond measure. We never foresaw any of this happening. In this casket, it’s not just my Mercy but also our daughter whom we were expecting,” he shared.
Reflecting on their relationship, Mwangi recalled meeting Mercy 16 years ago in college. They courted for eight years before marrying, remaining inseparable throughout. “She has left a gap that no one can fill or even come close to,” he said.
Mercy, who was 36 years old, worked at Mbaitu FM where she hosted the drive show until her untimely passing. Her vibrant presence and professional dedication will be deeply missed by her colleagues and listeners alike.
