IEBC Matungulu Clears Several Candidates To Vie For Matungulu Parliamentary Seat

Nine Aspirants from Matungulu Constituency have been cleared to vie for Member of Parliament in the constituency.

The nine include eight men and one woman from the constituency.

The exercise which was led by Matungulu Subcounty Returning Officer Sarah Maalim Mohammed ended on Tuesday.

Matungulu Mp Stephen Mutinda Mule was the first to be cleared. Mule is vying on a Wiper Ticket and he is seeking to be elected for a third term.

Addressing the press Mule maintained that even though he had worked for the people of Matungulu he wanted to ensure that where he had envisioned Matungulu subcounty was achieved through his leadership.

“Have been cleared and mine is to say just as we have made Matungulu somewhere it is good we continue building it further and I am the man able to do that to my people,” he said.

Philip Munyao Mutisya an independent candidate said that he was ready to work for the betterment of the youths of Matungulu as well as the residents of Matungulu.

Munyao whose major support comes from the youth also called on the IEBC to ensure that they work on their systems as they mostly inconvenienced people while they being cleared.

“I would like to request all aspirants that we hold peaceful campaigns during this elections for the sake of our community and people,” he said.

Joseph Muling’a who is vying on a Narc party ticket said that leaders both in National government and County government should work in one accord without bringing about division.

“When elected I will ensure that I work closely with the county government. We need to stop the division between our people that national and county governments are two different governments we are in the same country sharing same resources,” he said.

Peter Kilonzo Mutiso also got cleared by IEBC. He is an independent candidate who called upon the residents to elect him so he would bring proactive leadership in the constituency.

Thomas Malinda Musau an independent candidate was also cleared by IEBC to vie for the same parliamentary seat.

Virginia Mueni Mwenga who is the only woman vying fir the seat on a Jubilee ticket called on women leaders to support each other during this campaign period.

Peter Mwanzia of UDA was also cleared by IEBC, Jimmy Mwithi of Maendeleo Chap Chap and Dennis Mutuku Safina Party.
