Guardian Angel Explains Decision to Build in Esther Musila’s Home

Guardian Angel has opened up about his decision to build in Ukambani the home area of his Wife Esther Musila.

The couple, who have frequently faced public scrutiny over their relationship, dismissed societal pressures that expect men to establish homes in their ancestral lands, calling such expectations outdated.

The 33 year old, addressed critics who argue that building in his wife’s homeland goes against cultural traditions. He firmly stated that he does not owe anyone an explanation, emphasizing that Kenyan law allows individuals to buy property anywhere.

“I do not need to answer to anyone. Even the Constitution allows it—you can go anywhere and buy property. Many people get married here in Nairobi and invest here even though they are not from here.” Guardian said.

The singer explained that the primary reason for his decision was convenience. While hinting his ancestral home is in Butere in Luhya land, traveling there takes an entire day, making it difficult to oversee farming projects. In contrast, Ukambani is just 45 minutes from Nairobi, allowing him to manage his investments more effectively.

“It’s easier for me because home is just 45 minutes away. I can monitor my projects and even sleep there and come back. It has nothing to do with ‘nilienda kujenga kwa bibi’ (building in my wife’s homeland).”

Guardian Angel’s statement challenges traditional gender roles and societal norms regarding property ownership in marriage as well as societal views. His move highlights the growing trend of couples making practical decisions based on lifestyle and convenience rather than cultural expectations.
