Two people, a man, and a woman perished in a ghastly road accident in Makueni county. The two, a bodaboda rider aged 30 and his passenger aged 22 died after a head-on collision with a lorry.
The accident occurred at Itangini along Wote-Machakos road on Monday night.
The accident was confirmed by Makueni county commander Joseph Ole Napeiyan who told the press that the accident took place at around 8 pm.
The bodies of the two were moved to Makueni referral hospital mortuary while the lorry and motorbike towed to Makueni police station awaiting inspection.
The county police boss urged motorists and all road users to be careful and follow traffic rules. The accident comes just two days after bodaboda riders died in different accidents.
The first victim died after being hit by a private vehicle at Machinery along Nairobi- Mombasa road.
A few hours later two bodaboda operators aged 16 and 47 perished after their motorbikes collided. The accident happened at Kitonyini area along Kathoka-Sia road. The two passengers who they were carrying sustained serious injuries.
