Grace Bahati Breaks Silence on MCA Drama: Did Her Colleagues Really Fight Over Her?”

Kyeleni MCA Grace Bahati, popularly known as Zora, has strongly refuted claims alleging that two Machakos MCAs fought over her at a hotel in Malindi.

Bahati described the reports as baseless propaganda being spread by bloggers to intimidate her due to her vocal stance on county oversight matters.

“For the things going round on social media, I want you to know that we are used to them in politics,” she said.

“As an MCA, my job is to oversight the governor, and lately we have been asking tough questions. Some people are afraid of asking, but as an elected leader, I know this is my job.” She went on.

Bahati insisted that the rumors were a deliberate attempt to silence her as a young and independent leader who is holding the County Executive to account.

“I want to let you know that I will not be quiet. There is nothing you can do to stop me from oversighting Machakos County Assembly. The governor must work and provide services for the people of Kyeleni.” Grace added.

She criticized the state of development in her ward, stating that residents have yet to feel the impact of County Government.

“My voice is for the people of Kyeleni. They have not seen the work. They cannot even experience or feel services in the area, To my people of Kyeleni, let’s continue pushing until we can see service delivery in our area.” She reiterated.

Bahati also issued a warning to those spreading misinformation about her online.

“I was elected as an independent candidate. I did not need any party to come to Machakos. I was elected by the people of Kyeleni as their child because they saw a leader in me—not just a woman or a young person—so I must speak for my people.”Grace went on.

She concluded by calling on her supporters in Kyeleni to stand firm and continue backing her as she champions their interests in the county assembly.
