Governor Mutula Accused of Secret Engagements with President Ruto Behind Opposition’s Back

Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jnr has come under fire from Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse, who accused him of secretly working with President William Ruto and senior Kenya Kwanza officials.

Speaking at Kisingu Secondary School in his constituency, Mutuse claimed the governor was engaging in covert discussions with the government, promising to switch allegiance if he failed to secure the Wiper Party ticket in the 2027 elections.

“At night, you speak with the government, we will expose you. If the President is not a good person, don’t look for him at night or his ministers. You’ve told them that if you don’t get the Wiper ticket in 2027, you’ll decamp. You can’t be both in and outside government. Declare your stand,” Mutuse said.

Mutuse further challenged Governor Mutula to face him directly, insisting that the people of Makueni deserve transparency from their leaders.

In a quick and fiery response, Governor Mutula dismissed the allegations, reiterating his commitment to the Wiper party and its leader Kalonzo Musyoka. He accused his detractors of trying to intimidate him into abandoning the party.

“What nonsense! I am in Wiper to stay through hell or high water. The journey-come-latelies must look for another plot. These shenanigans and the planting of candidates in the party are just a ruse to scare me out of Wiper. It will not happen. I will support Kalonzo Musyoka and they can report it!” Mutula said.
