Just days after the tragic death of singer Fortune Mwikali’s father, her mother has broken her silence to address the painful rumors that have been circulating online.
Social media has been flooded with some speculations claiming that Fortune “sacrificed her father”, a claim her mother says is not only false but deeply distressing.
In an emotional statement, Fortune’s mother expressed her sorrow over the baseless accusations, urging the public to give the family the respect and privacy they need to grieve.
She spoke about the impact of her husband’s death on the entire family, emphasizing the especially close bond that Fortune shared with her father.
“It’s heartbreaking that people could think or say such things about my daughter during this time, ” she said.
“Fortune and her father were inseparable. They shared a unique and deep connection, built over years of love and support. It’s cruel to suggest she had anything to do with his death when she is devastated by this loss. People should understand that these rumors are only adding to our pain. Their words feel like a dagger in our hearts,” She added.
Fortune’s father was reportedly killed by unknown assailants, his body was found with severe stab wounds.
Police have launched an investigation and are actively pursuing leads to find those responsible for the brutal attack.
