Last week, Itiva Nzou location Chief Daniel Kilonzo was found lying dead by the roadside. The cause of death was not established immediately as investigations are ongoing.
His family however has called for the fast-tracking of the probe to know what killed their kin.
His father Joseph Muthengi told the media that they are unable to wrap their heads as to what caused their son’s death.
He noted that his son was very friendly to everyone and did his work diligently and if anyone is involved should be brought to justice.
“My son hardly differed with anyone, he was so friendly,” said Muthengi.
He narrated that on Friday night the chief was found outside Itiva Nzou secondary school by a passersby.
He was in a kneeling position and his wallet and identification card had been taken. His body had an injury on the head near the left eye.
The family said the chief left home in good condition for work that morning only to be found dead.
After work, the chief had gone for drinks with some of his friends before leaving for home. He however did not reach home as expected. He had served as a chief for 15 years before his unexpected demise.
Kyuso sub-county Police commander John Kusia said that the police are trying to put the pieces together.
