Confusion ensued in Kangundo level 4 hospital mortuary after a family from Nduu village in Matungulu sub-county was forced to postpone the burial of their father after his body went missing from the mortuary.
Addressing the press outside the mortuary, the family said that the burial of their father was scheduled for Thursday and they went to pick the body of their father but it was nowhere to be found.
After being kept waiting they were called in and shown another body only to realize it was not their father and upon questioning they were told their father was buried in Nyeri on Tuesday.
“We had brought our father here at Kangundo hospital mortuary and today the 9th we were planning to lay him to rest. We came and stayed outside for long. Other people came and were served, for three hours no one talked to us on what was going on,” said Lucia Kalondu.
“After some time of enquiring and pushing, they called us and showed us another body that we could only see the legs. We told them that was not our father and got out, we were later informed that there was a problem. Our father’s body had been picked by another family and buried in Nyeri,” she added.
The family noted that due to the delay and losing the body of their father they have incurred loses and would now be forced to postpone the burial for another day.
