The family of Martin Mugambi who died at Miangeni International School two weeks ago has expressed its dissatisfaction with the autopsy results.
The post-mortem was conducted on Mugambi’s body today at Makindu Hospital by four pathologists led by Grace Midigo. The report stated that the boy died of drowning.
Zambezi Mutuma another pathologist said that there are samples that have been taken to the government chemist for more investigations on the cause of death.
“We have unanimously agreed that the cause of death is drowning in water but the only question we cannot answer is whether it was accidental, suicidal, or homicidal drowning, this is because there is the question of how an agile swimmer can drown in the swimming pool,” said Peter Ndegwa another pathologist
The family requested for the DCI and the school to provide CCTV footages of the swimming pool on the fateful day.
They explained that all they wanted to be told was what happened prior to the drowning incident because the school had refused to show them the CCTV footage.
Mugambi, a form three student at the school was found floating dead in the school swimming pool and the circumstances surrounding his death are still a mystery.
