Emotions ran deep as Rev. Father Fredrick Nguthu Mbuvi was laid to rest at the Mutune Diocesan Priests’ Cemetery in a dignified ceremony.
During his homily, Bishop Mwongela encouraged the congregation to embody peace and kindness in their everyday lives.
“Don’t wait for someone to pass away to wish them rest in peace. Instead, help them live in peace. Offer others peace so they can live well, bring them joy, and ensure they remain at peace wherever they are,” Bishop Mwongela advised.
Fr. Fredrick began his spiritual journey in 1989 at St. Mary’s Seminary, Molo. After completing his initial formation, he continued his philosophical studies at St. Augustine’s Major Seminary from 1990 to 1991. However, he took a six-year break from the seminary to care for his siblings following the passing of their parents.

In 1997, Fr. Fredrick resumed his priestly studies at St. Mathias Mulumba Major Seminary in Tindinyo, where he completed his theological education in 2001. He was ordained a deacon on April 20, 2001, and a priest on September 14, 2002.
Following his ordination, Fr. Fredrick Nguthu Mbuvi served in numerous parishes. His first assignment was at St. Joseph’s Mutito Parish, after which he moved to St. Joseph’s Kavisuni Parish. He later served at St. Patrick’s Nguni Parish and St. Augustine’s Nguutani Parish. Fr. Fredrick continued his pastoral work at Mutomo Parish before being assigned to St. Paul the Apostle Kwa Kilui, where he served until his passing.
