There was drama Wednesday as Machakos county officials rushed to hide full garbage bins that had not been emptied for months from Kangundo Buspark ahead of Deputy Governor Francis Maliti visit to the town.

According to the residents, the bins were full and they had complained about their removal only but yesterday morning they were carried away and dumped in Kwa Akamba market just a few meters from Kangundo town.

Many of the residents did not seem happy with the move pulled by the county government saying that they should have emptied the bins and not hide them somewhere else.

“It’s a shame that they decide to clear the bins today because the deputy governor is coming yet we have been telling them to empty them, the worst part is that they did not clear them they just went and dumped them at Kwa Akamba waiting for the event to end and bring them back to the same place,” one of the residents said.

Machakos Deputy Governor launched Maendeleo Chap Chap Party Kangundo Town Office yesterday where he also rolled out mass party registration of new members.

He further assured residents that drugs had been stocked in different hospitals in the county after a shortage hit the county for the last few months.
