Charles Kilonzo announces exit from Yatta politics

Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo has now announced an exit from Yatta politics. Kilonzo spoke Saturday in Ndalani at the burial of Mary Kioko Kilonzo wife to his brother Vincent Kilonzo.

“I have said I am retiring from constituency politics to do other things having been there from 2003. It is a long time. I have seen someone who has been acting MP (Kasimba Ngui). “Charles Kilonzo said.

Kilonzo also cautioned locals not to drop guard on Covid-19 noting that even at the National Assembly they had lost several colleagues due to the disease.

Mary Kioko Kilonzo was working with the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) and passed on the 18th of February 2021 following a short illness. She was mourned as a hardworking, humble, and loving mother. She left behind 2 daughters and a husband.

Maendeleo Chap Chap senatorial aspirant John Mutua Katuku speaking after the funeral asked Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka to stop meddling with the duties of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) saying that it is an independent body and it does not need to be lectured on how to conduct an election.

His sentiments were echoed by Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Maliti terming Wiper Party Leader remarks as irresponsible. He said that Maendeleo Chap Chap had persuaded Machakos voters to elect Katuku by educating them on the qualifications of a senator and they were going to win without rigging.
