Machakos Town MP Caleb Mule has for the first time spoken on alleged embezzlement of Machakos Cancer Centre funds.
Speaking while launching the desilting of the Kwa Ngeki dam in Katheka Kai, Caleb said that he has no connection to the cancer centre.
The legislator said that if he had embezzled money from that project the matter should be investigated and he be held accountable but nothing has been done.
“I want to ask the Deputy Governor to leave me alone because I don’t even answer him, every time he only talks about the cancer centre and those are just cheap propaganda,” said Caleb.
“I want to be very honest with you, the problem with the Deputy Governor is just seeing me being generous when he hears I have given out unga he says it’s the money from the cancer centre. I want to tell him if he hears have given out unga let him bring mboga. Let the MCAs go and investigate what is questioned by Mwangangi called Cancer Centre and if it’s true why I have not been arrested, ” he added.
In June, Mwangangi alleged that the contractor awarded the tender to construct the Machakos Cancer Centre embezzled the money.
“As I speak here Machakos county is supposed to have the best cancer centre not only in this country but in this region, but 240 million one man who won the contract decided not to build the cancer centre but they just painted the house and took the money,” Mwangangi claimed then.
