A Boda Boda rider escaped death by a whisker after being knocked by a Machakos County Fuel truck at Nditha Steel Bridge along Mwala-Kithimani road.
Confirming the incident Mwala Subcounty Traffic Commander Jack Ila said that the fuel truck was heading to Matuu when it knocked the rider who sustained serious head injuries.
“A Machakos county fuel truck has knocked down a Boda Boda rider along Mwala -Kithimani road. The lorry was on its way to Matuu when the accident happened. The rider was heading to Kabaa before he sustained serious head injuries, ” he said.
Stephen Mutuku an eye witness said that he was coming from Masii heading to Matuu when he witnessed the accident between the fuel truck and the rider. They collided and the rider was hit hard. Lucky for him, some Machakos Level 5 doctors were on their way to Machakos and they gave him first aid at least to save his life before he was taken to hospital.
“I saw the accident the man was hit very badly and his motorcycle is in bad condition. Lucky for him on the way there were doctors from Machakos Level 5 who attended to him fast enough and saved his life, ” he said.
Police have towed the lorry and the motorbike to the police station and the man rushed to hospital for treatment.
On Monday, Two people, a driver and a passenger escaped death after a Machakos County Garbage truck lost its way and rolled at Muvuti hills along Machakos – Kitui Road. The garbage truck is said to have traveled from Katangi in Yatta sub-county to collect garbage before it overturned and lost control.
