Biado: Why Kasolo Can’t Win Political Seat

Renowned TV presenter Abed Maundu, known to fans as Biado, has commented on gospel singer Stephen Kasolo’s political prospects.

Speaking during singer Biez Kaviru’s album launch, Biado cast doubts on Kasolo’s ability to succeed in elective politics.

Biado’s remarks come after Kasolo’s unsuccessful attempt to secure the MCA seat for Mulango Ward in the last general election despite his popularity as a gospel artist.

Biado attributed Kasolo’s defeat to his flawed political approach, suggesting that Kasolo may have underestimated the strategic complexities involved in electoral contests.

“Kasolo went around telling people he’s an orphan, hoping that it would make voters sympathize with him. He thought people would vote for him out of pity, but politics isn’t about sympathy,” said Biado.

“He came in last and even alleged that he had been rigged out. In politics, you have to be wise. It’s often about how well you can navigate the truth and adapt to the game. If you come in with only the truth, you might be setting yourself up for failure,” he added.

Biado then shared his own ambitions, revealing that he has his sights set on the MCA seat for Emali/Mulala Ward when the time is right. While he did not specify when he would make an official bid, his interest hints at a future transition from media to politics.

“Politics has always been in my mind, and when the time comes, I’ll be ready to serve,” he said confidently.

Meanwhile, Biado is preparing to celebrate a major milestone in his media career, marking 10 years as a presenter.
