The Athi River Bridge at the Kamulu-Joska border along the Kangundo road has developed a crack at the center.
According to an OB at KBC Traffic Base Matungulu dated 27th April, members of the public were advised to keep off the area until normalcy is restored.
“Please be informed that there is a visible crack on the tarmac at the center of Joska Bridge. This is due to the Athiriver frequently overflowing over the bridge. Members of the public are well advised to keep off that area until normalcy is restored. Progress report to follow.”The police report read in part.
Mbagathi River commonly known as Athi River last week overflowed at the Joska Kamulu bridge severally.
The bridge is critical as it Connects Nairobi and Machakos counties along Kangundo road. By the time of publishing KENHA was yet to issue any communication on the same.
