Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Aden Duale has pleaded with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to join the broad-based government.
Duale emphasized that the country is undergoing a political realignment, and leaders must put aside their differences to support a united agenda for national development.
“Na mimi nitaomba Kalonzo Musyoka ukitaka kushindana na sisi shindana na sisi 2027, lakini wewe kuja tubadilishe kenya,” Duale said.
His call puts Kalonzo Musyoka in a delicate position, as Kalonzo has been under pressure to redefine his political path following Raila’s shift. Kalonzo has in the past insisted on running for the presidency in 2027, but with the shifting alliances, his next move remains uncertain.
Duale went on to call on Gachagua whose concentration has been advocating for the unity of the Mt. Kenya region amid reports of growing internal tensions within the Kenya Kwanza government with and former President Uhuru Kenyatta who has maintained a low political profile after his retirement but remains a key figure in opposition politics through his ties to the Jubilee Party.
“Mheshimiwa Uhuru Kenyatta umeretire kuja tubadilishe kenya, wewe Gachagua na hiyo watu wako kuja tubadilishe kenya,” the CS went on.
Duale noted that for Kenya to progress, leaders must prioritize unity and development over partisan conflicts. He challenged Kalonzo and Gachagua to rise above political rivalry and work with the government to deliver for Kenyans.
“Kenya ikibadilika, viongozi wabadilishe kenya ikuwe kama Singapore, basi wakati wa kura tutashindana kwa sera,” he added.
