Abedinecho Katue Offers Financial Settlement to Resolve Sammy Kioko and Machakos County Dispute

Florida based Abedinecho Katue has written an open letter to Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, proposing a financial settlement to end the ongoing dispute between the County Government of Machakos and Comedian Sammy Kioko.

In the letter dated November 3, 2025, Katue expressed concern over the closure of Kioko’s businesses, which he said had resulted from delayed county payments. He noted that the shutdown had left many workers jobless and struggling to survive.

“The current situation has created significant distress not only for Mr. Kioko but also for the employees who have lost their livelihoods as a result,” Katue wrote.

“It is our collective duty to find a fair and sustainable solution to this matter.”

To help end the stalemate, Katue proposed a direct financial settlement. Under his first proposal, he offered to personally pay Ksh 10 million to Kioko within 24 hours, on condition that Governor Ndeti reimburses him within an agreed repayment period.

He further suggested that the governor’s office contribute Ksh 9 million to cover the remaining balance. As an alternative, Katue said he was willing to pay the entire Ksh 19 million himself, provided Governor Ndeti commits to repaying the amount within three months.

He recommended that both parties formalize the arrangement through a promissory note prepared by their legal teams.

“This offer is made in good faith, without any expectation of interest or additional fees. The intent is purely to assist in restoring stability and trust,” the letter stated.

Katue clarified that the repayment obligation would rest solely with Governor Ndeti, not the Machakos County Government or its citizens. He urged her to engage directly to finalize the agreement and ensure a swift resolution.Addressing the public, Katue appealed for calm and objectivity as the matter unfolds.

“Let us refrain from spreading speculation, and instead allow this issue to be addressed through dialogue, respect, and mutual understanding,” he added.

In conclusion, Katue praised Governor Ndeti’s leadership and reaffirmed his confidence in her commitment to the people of Machakos County.

“I have always held you in high regard as a visionary leader dedicated to the progress of Machakos County and the empowerment of the Kamba community,” he wrote. “It is my sincere hope that this proposal will serve as a constructive step toward resolving the current dispute.”
