Mumbuni North Ward By-Election race heats up as new entrant joins Contest

The Mumbuni North Ward by-election is gaining momentum with shifting political alliances and a growing list of contenders vying to replace the late ward representative.

The latest entrant into the race is Nzomo Muli, who officially declared his candidacy on Tuesday under the Grand Dream Development Party (GDDP) banner. Speaking to the media, Muli said he is committed to serving the people of Mumbuni North and championing development across the ward.

“I am well conversant with the issues facing Mumbuni North. I’ve taken this opportunity to vie because I believe I can help my people,” Muli stated.

“My vision is to transform the ward into a model of development—a place others can come to benchmark,” he added.

The by-election has drawn interest from multiple political parties, with some candidates stepping aside in support of others while new aspirants continue to enter the race.

The Wiper Patriotic Front, United Democratic Alliance (UDA), and Maendeleo Chap Chap have all unveiled their flagbearers for the seat.

  • Anthony Kyalo Kisoi will contest on a Wiper ticket.
  • Misi Mutua is vying under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
  • Harrison Wambua will represent Maendeleo Chap Chap.

The seat fell vacant following the death of the former MCA. Since then, political activity in the ward has intensified, with candidates promising to prioritize service delivery, infrastructure, and community development.

As the campaigns begin to take shape, residents of Mumbuni North are keenly watching how alliances shift and what each candidate brings to the table ahead of the anticipated poll.
