Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka has urged Agriculture Cabinet secretary Mithika Linturi to resign before the impeachment hearing.

Kalonzo made the remarks while overseeing the distribution of relief food to flood-affected individuals in Mumbuni, Machakos County.

Kama Linturi amekuwa impeached, I find it very strange as it goes against the concept of supremacy of Parliament itself. That the decision by 149 members of Parliament has to go to the committee for verification,” Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo promised as members of the Azimio coalition they will correct the Kenya Kwanza regime whenever necessary.

DAP Kenya party leader Eugene Wamalwa noted the government should declare the ongoing floods a national disaster.

“As Azimio we urge the Kenya Kwanza government to recognize that the current disaster in Kenya extends beyond Machakos and Nairobi counties. Nearly 32 out of the 47 counties are grappling with the effects of floods.” Said Wamalwa.

“A time has come when Kenya Kwanza regime should declare this a national disaster,” Wamalwa added.

Wamalwa assured the declaration of the ongoing floods as a national disaster will enable state actors and non-state actors to collaborate and support the affected victims across the country.
