Machakos Town MP Caleb Mule has once again criticized his predecessor, Victor Munyaka, urging him to retire from active politics and focus on his personal life.
Speaking during a public event in his constituency, Mule argued that Munyaka, who served as MP for three consecutive terms, should be content with his achievements and leave the political stage for others.
“Three terms in office is more than enough. Someone should know when to step back and focus on other aspects of life, like taking care of their grandchildren,” said Mule.
The legislator warned locals against re-electing Munyaka, claiming it would lead to a return to stagnation in development.
He contrasted his own administration with that of his predecessor, highlighting the strides made in education bursaries as an example.
“You want to go back to the days of Sh2,000 bursaries? We are working on increasing them to Sh4,000 and beyond. Progress requires leadership that is focused on the future, not the past,” he added.
Mule expressed confidence in his chances of retaining the seat in the next general election, citing his track record of development projects and service delivery.
“I have worked tirelessly for my people, and I will continue to do so until 2027. By the time I complete my 15 years, I won’t need to ask for votes again. I’ll be ready to serve in a higher capacity. You can’t stay in one position forever,” he said.
Mule’s remarks come amidst speculation that Munyaka could make a political comeback, setting the stage for a potential showdown in the 2027 polls.
