Four people have been arrested while 300 cartons of illicit liquor were confiscated during a crackdown in different locations in Tala, Matungulu sub-county of Machakos County.
Speaking to Mauvoo News, Matungulu Police Commander Monica Kimani noted the liquor dubbed “Star” and “Pasha” had not passed the standards by KEBS making it unfit for human consumption.
The Sub-county police boss said that the crackdown would be conducted in the whole of Matungulu as a way of ensuring that illicit liquor would be nowhere to be seen in the sub-county.
The arrested have been taken to KBC police station in Malaa awaiting to be arraigned in Kangundo Law courts as samples of the alcohol were also taken to Government Chemist for testing as well as Kenya Bureau of Standards.
