The 2019 National Population and Housing Census results were presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday at State House Nairobi. According to the results, Kenya population is 47, 564, 296.
Machakos County leads Ukambani with a population of 1,421,932. 710,707 being male, 711,191 female and 34 intersex.
Kitui County is second in the region with 1,136,187 residents. 549,003 male, 587, 151 female and 33 intersex.
Makueni County has the least number of residents at 987, 653. 489,691 being male, 497,942 female and 20 intersex.
Overall, Nairobi County is the most populated with 4,397,073 residents. 2,192,452 are Male, 2,204,376 female and 245 intersex. Kiambu county is the second most populated 2,417, 735 and Nakuru third at 2,162,202.
President Uhuru Kenyatta said that 2019 census exercise was historical as it was the first under the new Constitution thanking enumerators and security personnel for their sacrifice and commitment to ensure the success of the exercise.
