Kangundo level 4 hospital mortuary is set to bury 13 unclaimed bodies in the next 2 weeks if no one claims the bodies. The bodies are for 2 minors and 11 adults.

Kangundo public health officer Peter Muteti speaking to the media said that the move is meant to do away with congestion in the mortuary.

Early September, Machakos Health CECM Dr. Ancent Kituku has raised an alarm following the filling up of mortuaries in Machakos County. Kituku in a statement said that a big proportion of the deaths were Covid related.

According to Muteti, loved ones who have had their kin missing should check with them before the end of 14 days.

“The bodies are congesting the mortuary and in 14 days if we get a disposal order we will proceed and bury them. Those who have missing loved ones should come and check before we proceed.” Muteti said.

“When we remove the bodies no one should claim we buried their loved ones in a public cemetery so if you lost someone please come.” He added.
